Leon

Hit By A Car

Meet Leon, a handsome 3-year-old mix who has touched all of us at WVRC. He was involved in a car accident in Waukesha County at the end of March. During the accident, Leon was thrown from the car, suspected to have run across the highway, and then hit by another car. A good samaritan and police officer brought him to WVRC, where the good samaritan amazingly gave us all of the money he had in his wallet and walked out of the building. Leon’s owner was located and came to WVRC while the dog was being stabilized, and ultimately decided to amputate Leon’s right rear leg due to a severe fracture that likely would never heal well. We are delighted and inspired by his strength and recovery on three legs!
