Pelvic Mass

Bailey is a 10 year old, mixed breed dog that was referred to our Grafton animal hospital by their family veterinarian for further diagnostic testing. Poor Bailey could not urinate or defecate. She had a large mass that took up nearly all of the space in the pelvic canal and it was compressing the urethra and colon. Dr. Meinen had to surgically split the pelvis, remove the mass and then repair the pelvis. Bailey did amazingly well during surgery and recovery. Unfortunately, the mass is a fibrosarcoma (cancerous tumor). The owners are consulting with Dr. Meinen and Dr. Goodman, WVRC’s Oncologist, for the best ongoing oncology treatment for Bailey so that she can have the best quality of life possible. Good luck to Bailey and her family!
